July 10th, the last Green Night before our summer break, will feature a Mini Charrette where we will ask attendees to engage in small group dialogues to help form our Green Night event goals for this upcoming year.

GreenNight July2013

The WMGC Mission states…

”WMGC believes the development of a just and sustainable economy requires the participation of community members from all sectors and income levels. WMGC’s mission is to support sustainable living and sustainable building in Western Massachusetts through regular public networking events, improved cross-sector collaboration, educational and participant led workshops, and support for select mission-driven projects.”

Of course we will have our usual sharing of Networking, News and Announcements from all present as well as a few words from the evening’s Sponsor ENERGIA.

Additionally, we will present a short, funny, data-packed talk from TED U, “Ted Talks”.Catherine Mohr walks us through all the geeky decisions she made when building a new green home,  looking at real energy numbers, not hype. What choices matter most? Not the ones you think.

Catherine Mohr is an engineer who switched careers into medicine and now works on surgical robots and robotic surgical procedures, using robots to make surgery safer. She is a senior scientific advisor to the Global Solver Foundation, an innovative funding and study group that looks at ways to match up scientists and money to help the world’s oceans.

We will finish off the night with our usual transition into Green Drinks in the Loft.

Come join us next Wednesday and share your knowledge and your ideas for learning.  We are All the Consortium  and  your participation is essential.

Remember to mark your calendars now for the second Wednesday in September when we will have our next Green Night Presentation.
